The
Spanish Village Art Center is a colony of 37 artists, with unique
colorful doorways into their studios. Originally built for the California
Pacific International Exposition in 1935, the Center flourishes with
the true charm of an old Spanish town.
You
can see the artists at work and buy one-of-a-kind pieces. There's
woodcarving, enamel, basketry, blown glass, hot glass, fused glass,
kaleidoscopes, sculpture, lampworking, metalwork, beadwork, jewelry,
photography, polymer clay, pottery, fiber art, watercolors, oils,
and acrylics.
If you are an art lover, this little known corner of Balboa Park is
a must see!
Location:Between
the zoo and the Natural History Museum.
