Seaport Village San Diego

Seaport
Village, San Diego is a charming place located on a scenic stretch of
the Bay and features gift stores, restaurants and a great old Merry
Go Round made of real wood. As San Diego's waterfront landmark, Seaport
Village is nicely set among three busy and beautiful plazas intended
to capture the old architectural styles of early California and the
ambience of Old Monterey, Victorian San Francisco and traditional Mexico.
You can take leisurely walks on little paths, watching the ships that
sail across the bay.
You
will find a diverse collection of specialty shops displaying unusual
ware – everything from a kite store and rubber-stamp emporium
to a shop that stocks things for left-handed people. You will see snack
bars and restaurants from where you get fantastic views of the harbor.
Seaport Village’s most unique attraction is its 100-year-old restored
carousel with hand-carved wooden animals for the kids to ride. There
are about 54 animals that comprise of lots of horses plus a giraffe,
dragon, elephant, dog, and others. It was hand-carved and hand-painted
by Charles Looff in 1895. It is exciting to see clowns walking around.
You will also see balloon sculptors, mimes, musicians, and magicians
throughout the village.
If you are fashion conscious, you can shop from a wide array of fashion
chops with a variety of choice for men, women and children. You can
find sportswear, beachwear and accessories.
The most outstanding feature of Seaport Village, San Diego is the wonderful
view since it’s right on the bay. You can enjoy some lovely bayside
dining, while you watch the spectacular sunsets and waterfront activity.
Whether you are looking for a romantic setting or a festive one, Seaport
Village has it all.
