Ellen
Browning Scripps Park is located along the coast of La Jolla along
the La Jolla Scenic Drive. The park is named after the La Jolla early
resident and Scripps newspaper fortune heir.
The park with its surreal looking wind blown trees is rumored to be
the inspiration for many of the whimsical trees illustrated in the
popular Dr. Seuss children’s books.
The park is a popular sunset watching spot and one of the most photographed
places in San Diego. The park features huge grassy areas ideal for
picnics, weddings or just lounging around and getting a tan.
The park is located within walking distance to many other La Jolla
attractions such as La Jolla Cave and the La Jolla Marine Preserve.
There is also plenty of shopping and places to eat just around the
corner in a Jolla Village.
