Oceanside
has a wide expanse of beach with palm trees. You can swim, sunbathe,
surf, play volleyball or just romp in the water.
There are lifeguards, restrooms, a snack bar and disability access.
Surf fishing is popular near one of the
longest wooden piers in the U.S. (1,942 feet long). You can also plan
a half or full day fishing trip.
Stroll, rollerblade, or ride a bike along the main street of Oceanside,
the "Strand," which adjoins the beach. The Oceanside Harbor,
a little further north, offers a yacht club, shops and restaurants.
Parking is free along the Strand. Paid parking lots are on both sides
of the pier.
Location:
Drive west from any Oceanside exit off I-5.
