to Leatherneck Museum
Panther,
Banshee, Skyknight, Fury, Cougar, Crusader, Skyhawk (the last ever
built – number 2960), Phantom II, Hornet, MiG (yes, we have
a MiG-15 on display) and Intruder. With names like that, they must
be jets and they are! Talk about photo opportunities! These birds
look fast even when they’re sitting still. Compare the look
of the early jets to the sleek F/A-18A, the beautiful RF-8 and the
powerful RF-4B.
Location:
Museum hours of operation are Tuesday through Sunday, 9:00AM to 3:30PM.
There is no charge for admission, but donations are welcome and support
the continuing growth of this one of a kind museum.
The
museum is located directly across the street from 8604 Miramar Road.
From I-15, proceed west for 1.3 miles and turn left into the parking
lot. From I-805, proceed east for 3.9 miles and turn right into the
parking lot.
