From
the HOK, HUP and an AH-1J through the CH-53A, an Iraqi Bell 214S (liberated
when the Marines captured Beirut International during Desert Storm),
an “Evil Eyes” H-34 of HMM-163 and a HRS, these helicopters
represent the birth and growth of helicopter operations pioneered
by forward thinking Marine Aviators of an earlier day. Walk among
them and marvel at how far technology has brought us from the 1950’s
technology to today.
Location:
Museum hours of operation are Tuesday through Sunday, 9:00AM to 3:30PM.
There is no charge for admission, but donations are welcome and support
the continuing growth of this one of a kind museum. The museum is
located directly across the street from 8604 Miramar Road. From I-15,
proceed west for 1.3 miles and turn left into the parking lot. From
I-805, proceed east for 3.9 miles and turn right into the parking
lot.
