In
the 1830's W.T. Ratcilffe an itinerant artist stopped by and noticed
the resemblance the local boulders had to actual and mythological
creatures. He spent the next 2 years with a mallet and chisel creating
the mysterious creatures that now inhabit Boulder Park. Mr. Ratcilffe
has created one of California's most exceptional folk art environments
and a place children love to climb around discovering new beast.

Interstate 8 seventy miles east of San Diego. 40 miles west of El
Centro. Take the In-Ko-Pah Rd. turnoff
