Del Mar Fair - San Diego County Fair

The Del Mar Fair or San Diego County Fair is an extremely enjoyable family event. It is one of the largest and most popular fairs in California. Held at the Del Mar Fair Grounds, 20 miles north of downtown San Diego on the coast of Del Mar, this fair welcomes summertime every year drawing more than a million visitors from all over the United States.

At the Del Mar Fair you’ll enjoy old-fashioned celebration with lots of entertainment, exciting rides, shops, food, exhibits and crafts. You can have a wonderful time with traditional exhibits and attractions like the flower and garden show, cooking competition and the stable areas with farm animals.

One of the leading attractions at the Fair is The Food Promenade located right through the center aisle of the fair. The regular locals make up their minds about what they want to eat even before they are there – the favorites are County Fair Cinnamon Rolls, Australian Battered Potatoes, Fat Boy Colossal Burger and Barbecue fare.

Extra attraction at the Del Mar Fair - One Dollar Opening Day

As if the other attractions are not reason enough to visit the San Diego County fair at Del Mar, on opening day, around June 10th, you can go to the fair for only $ 1.00! You can buy your Dollar Day tickets in San Diego at Ralphs Grocery, with a minimum $10.00 purchase up to the day of. The validity of the Dollar Day tickets is only for the first day and are not available at the Fairgrounds ticket booths. If you do not have these coupons, you will spend anywhere from $ 5.00 to $ 11.00, depending on age.
