Diego Beaches

San
Diego has many spectacuar beaches. From the warm sandy beaches of
La Jolla Shores, to the tall cliffs above Swami’s in North County
San Diego, now you can visit all of them without even leaving your
chair. So Sit back and enjoy San Diego’s best beaches.
Some of the best beaches in the world are in San Diego. Mission Beach,
Pacific Beach, La Jolla, Coronado, Del Mar and North County beaches
like Encinitas and Carlsbad are the most popular ones. What is exciting
about San Diego is its year around weather – days full of sunshine
and beaches that are ideal for your vacation.
The Continental Shelf protects the coastline of San Diego from the worst
of the North Pacific storm surges and the far off Southern Ocean swells.
This makes it safe to enjoy the San Diego beaches. The North County
coast has sandstone bluffs and some great beaches from Torrey Pines
all the way to San Onofre.
The
South Bay has the beautiful beaches of Coronado that seem to stretch
as far as the eye can see, and the Silver Strand that provide a natural
barrier to make San Diego one of the world's great seaports and one
of America's finest cities.
Every beach in San Diego has its own personality. The most popular is
La Jolla Shores. If you want that big sand, big beach, sort of beach,
then the Shores is for you.
For those who prefer something different, Coronado is the place to head
for. The Hotel Del Coronado has one of the nicest family beaches. No
major surfing waves here, but neither are there many super scary rip
currents.
For a more action-packed beach, Mission Beach is the place. You can
ride the Big Dipper Roller Coaster here a few times and get some great
views. Pacific Beach and Torrey Pines are also very good choices –
it is easier to find parking at Torrey Pines. Whatever beach you head
to, do not carry alcohol.
We
are always adding new places and attractions, so check back often. If
you have any ideas for places you would like us to include, send your
suggestions to info@aroundandaboutsandiego.com
