This
910 acre Park on the eastern flank of the Tierra Blanca Mountains
is operated by the San Diego County Department of Parks and recreation,
as is Vallecito Regional Park. The natural 96 degree Fahrenheit mineral
waters have long attracted people suffering from arthritis in rheumatism
who are seeking the curative powers associated with hot springs.
The
mesquite shaded campground features both indoor and outdoor natural
hot water bathing pools, an indoor Jacuzzi, showers, a picnic area,
a playground, a recreation hall, of campfire circle, nature trails,
and 140 campsites, most of which have full or partial hookups, tables,
fireplaces, and ramadas. A caravan area can also handle large groups.
County Rangers offer excellent, seasonal programs. Agua Caliente Springs
store is a half mile from the campground entrance and has a great
selection of camping supplies, guidebooks and maps for the local area.
